Tempest setup
Secure Tempest connection
myTempest now uses WeatherFlow authorization for private station observations. You sign in with WeatherFlow, approve access, and return to myWeatherDesk without copying a personal access token.
How to connect
- Open Setup in myTempest and choose Connect Tempest.
- Sign in on WeatherFlow's authorization page and approve access.
- Return to myWeatherDesk and choose a station if the account has more than one.
Credential protection
Your WeatherFlow password and access token are not exposed to the browser. Authorization is stored server-side and can be revoked by disconnecting the account.
Questions people ask
Do I need to find my Station ID?
No. myTempest discovers the stations available to the authorized WeatherFlow account.
Does myWeatherDesk store my WeatherFlow password?
No. Authentication occurs on WeatherFlow's website; myWeatherDesk never receives your password.
