Tempest Device ID help
The Device ID identifies a specific Tempest sensor device. In myTempest it is optional and mainly useful for device-specific live stream data.
When to use it
Most users should start with display location, token, and Station ID. Add Device ID only if you want myTempest to request live stream readings from a particular physical device.
Where it usually appears
- Open your Tempest station or device settings.
- Find the device details for the outdoor Tempest sensor.
- Copy the numeric device identifier, not the station identifier.
- Paste it into the optional Device ID field in myTempest Setup.
Questions people ask
Is Device ID required?
No. myTempest can work with location and Station ID. Device ID is optional live stream configuration.
What happens if I put the Station ID in the Device ID field?
Device-specific live stream data may not work because the two identifiers refer to different Tempest objects.
