Set up myTempest for WeatherFlow Tempest
Use this checklist when turning a tablet into a myTempest weather display. The setup can use only a display location, or it can add Tempest station credentials for live station data.
Recommended setup order
- Open myTempest and choose Setup.
- Enter the display location so forecast, radar, alerts, sunrise, sunset, and sky visuals use the right place.
- Add a Tempest token if you want private station observations.
- Add the Tempest Station ID for the station that should drive the dashboard.
- Add the Device ID only when you want optional live stream readings from the specific sensor device.
- Choose temperature and wind units, then save.
What each field does
The location drives forecast and map context. The token authorizes Tempest access. The Station ID selects the weather station. The Device ID is optional and only needed for device-specific live stream use.
Questions people ask
Can I use myTempest without a token?
Yes. Without a token, myTempest uses server-backed weather and does not show private live station readings.
Should Station ID and Device ID match?
Not usually. Station ID identifies the station. Device ID identifies a specific Tempest sensor device.
